Painting the Shower Area

Wow - white will sure brighten up a room fast.

Did a few coats of primer today - turned out OK.

Had some extra so did a little more of the ceiling than I was planning on.

After seeing how bright it made everything might as well.

Added a Door

With the tank now right in the middle I've put in the second door.

I wounder what people think when I walk out one only to go into the other?

New Door - #2

Put the second door in - which has made working on the tank a ton easier.

Trim this up a bit and build some stairs and the trailer is basically done.

Got a little nervous about the weight so I add some 3000 lb jack stands in the center between each tire.

Hopefully this will prevent any dropping of the trailer frame when I add all the water and salt.

We have Power

Power took a few tries - but it's now done!

Building the Base

I started building the base of the tank today.

Pretty simple platform with a foot between the joist.

Topped it off with a layer of plywood.

The end internal dimensions came out to 8 feet  by 4 feet 10 inches.

I ended up having to cut some off to frame the walls with 2 by 4's.

I then framed it in with 2 by 4's so that it can be insulated with R13.

I have to get a few more boards and then insulate the bottom.

I'll hold off on doing the sides for the time being.

Now that this is sitting in here I'm staring to gain a little perspective.

One thing is that this weight a ton!

May have to think lighter up top to be on the safe side.

The other thing that I kept thinking about today was the possibility of a curved roof.

This would primarily be for condensation.

But also allowing for maximum head room at the peak.

Something like this:

You have to love that heat escape on the top.

And so it Begins

I have finally got power to the outside!

This took way longer than it should have but it's DONE!

Now I can get started on the tank.

New Flooring

So I put down some new flooring.

It's padding that interlocks, like in a gym.

Then reassembled the shop area.

So I'm at the point that once I get power to the trailer 

I'll put in the other door and start building the tank itself.

The Return of Club Troy

For all of those that had the pleasure of hanging out in Club Troy at my old house

I have decided to bring it back!

This is the work bench from my original club.

Temp Check

An odd aspect to the float tank is the temperature the room needs to be held at

- they say around 86 degrees.

This is so when you get out of the 94 degree water your body doesn't go into Thermal Shock.

Well I may just have to get use to Trailer Thermal Shock

My small heater was able to keep the trailer right around 70 degree last night, 

with the low was just under 20.

After the tank goes in I think I'll be able to do a little better,

but not counting on a whole lot.

After this project is finished I'll start building something 

to pull it with.

I'm thinking along these lines:

Half Covered

So I have a little over 50% of the inside covered.

The shower side is left to be done.

I Just covered the upper back side - 

this is where the AC will go this summer.

Once I get the power figured out I'm ready to start on the tank!!

Insulation Done

So I finished the majority of the insulation and am getting ready to start putting up some covering.

Framed in for the second door, which should be done next week if possible.

The next step is power.

Once I know how that's going to work the rest should go quick,

until I start the bathroom.

Steal Up and Insulation

This weekend I ended up sealing up all the windows.

I hire out by the hour to do foam work if your interest.

Added some covers for the wheel wells,

extra insulation and I'll be walking on them during the tank construction.

So I have about 1/3 of the insulation done to this point.

Rest should go by fairly quickly.

So the next question is how warm can I keep it after insulation with

a small heater?  My hope is around 75 in the dead of winter.

I start taking some extra boards and putting up a make shift skirt -

see if that helps with the warmth.

Slow but Steady

This week I have made good friends with these two.

Filling in every crack I can find.

I got the insulation up on the ceiling and now ready to start on the walls.

So here is how she currently looks.

Finishing the Back & Door

So as always I have to bust ass because a storm is coming in and my trailer is

all opened up.

Finished the floor.

Put the door in and sealed it up.

That is one heavy door - had to go with a solid core 

because they had to cut a bunch off to get it to fit.

So I'm close to the point of having a rolling shed.

Put down another layer of OSB down, thinker were the tank

is going to go.  Then insulate and see how warm

I can keep it.

Redoing the Floor in Back

After dropping in and taking the door off the back floor was far worse than the front - great.

I have to have the floor done before I can start with the door.

One side close:

The door side was a wreck.

 Things would be going faster if these guys weren't trying to help.

Bathroom

So I have been struggling with how to insulate the grey water tank during winter.

As well as how I was going to get a pump in there that would automatically turn on.

Both problems solved - I think.

Basic layout for the bathroom:

The wall on the left is going to be the same slope of as the tank - considering this.
If I do that I'll have to find another spot for the fan.

Under the chair area I'll place this little guy -
these are used for showers in boats.

Spec for Todd to OK

This pump cost around $110 and will solve a ton of issues.

Now to remove the grey water tank.

Door Thoughts

I have been trying to figure out how to add doors to my trailer.

RV doors are $350 and up - that sucks.

In the long run I'll need to put two new doors on - 

one where the current, but broken, 

door is at and another for the shower room.

The Roof is Working

I have been given several rain and snow test on my roof and things are looking good.

Should be able to put up some insulation in the next few days - and it needs it.

Doing the Floor in the Back

I thought the wood was bad in the back of the trailer,

the metal would go to dust in your hand.

So it all got taken out and replaced,

with metal left over from the old roof.

Having to go down to the frame in one corner.

This was a huge pain and I'm hoping I don't have to do this in the front.

The back is all done except for a few boards that have to be replaced on the 

left side.  Waiting for it to warm up a bit for this part.
